Today is World AIDS Day, 2008.
Our local march and event, at the grand local concert hall, the Sage Gateshead, won't however be until Saturday, December 6th.
Therefore, even though I'm emcee again, I haven't written a speech yet... I looked at my last four years of speeches, though (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007) and thought: my, how did I come up with all those different ideas?...
Well: there are still a few days to think of something – in between writing the text for the Kagel Tango alemán, which I'm performing next week on my birthday – and that was also something that should have been done last week, or even sooner.
What I wanted to talk about was how one dealt with generally disintegrating health – that is, what you do to keep going when there are so many problems with the body that it's impossible to know what to deal with, or whether to deal with anything at all. And, of course, what doctors do in that case. Probably too bleak for this, though.
Hmm: something inspiring but real. Tricky...
