I love getting that hour back in the fall, when the clocks return to 'real' time.
It's silly, I suppose – living up here in the north, where by late October the night has eaten more than half the day anyway (official dawn-to-dusk is now eleven hours, and in December that will go down to a depressingly small number); and having the job I do, where I rarely need to go in mornings, it shouldn't much matter whether it's 3:30 am or 4:30 am right about now.
But I love it – it's such an utter gift – as though time can be given back to us....
